I am Cisco Clervoix. I am 28 years old and I'm from Naples, FL. Honestly, the things that I'm truly passionate about are things that I'm experiencing everyday. It took me sometime to realize it but my greatest passion is teaching and interacting with young people. The idea that I can make their day better or say something that would leave a lasting impression on their spirit allows me to embrace the notion, "It's a labor of love."

I attended Ohio Wesleyan University and graduated with a degree in Black World Studies and a double minor in Sociology/Anthropology and English. After graduation I worked for City Year Columbus. City Year is an international non-profit that hires 17 - 24 years old to work in inner city Elementary and Middle School through-out our respected city schools. I worked as a Senior Corp member at a Columbus middle school and lead an after school program for 25 - 30 youth with the help of 4 Corps members.

After City Year I worked for a summer camp company called Quantum Learning - Super Camp. Super Camp has sites all over different universities across the US. My site was the University of Washington in Seattle. At Super Camp, my team partner and I led a group of middle and high school students through a 10 day; educational, motivational, team building and skill building camp. That Fall I was recommended for a Facilitation position in the upcoming summer because of my impact with the campers.

That year I stayed in Columbus working for two charter high schools. In one school I worked as a site adviser for the service learning program that the school had in place, and in the other as a substitute teacher.

When my contract ended with the Charter schools I took my talent overseas and started teaching English as a second language to Korean middle school students. There I taught conversational English at a co-ed middle school in a city just south of Seoul. Then shortly I moved up to high school where I am currently teaching ESL at an all boys high school in a city called Pyeongtaek an hour South of Seoul.

It's often said that, "those who can, can and those who can't teach." Now that may or not be true depending on how you look at it but there are characteristics that one needs to be an effective teacher. Whether it'd be patience, understanding, compassion and the ability to forgive, one must understand that all children are not the same. One may need a little more, another may need alittle less of a certain thing for that guidance to be entirely effective.

Teaching is a way that allows an individual to live forever. Until this very day I can can remember the words of wisdom my teachers and coaches have blessed me with through the course of my life. These words have guided me and allowed me to be strong when I needed strength. My hope is that my words too will be remembered within the "pay it forward" concept.

Another great passion of mine is traveling. So many Americans live their whole life in the same place and never even leave their state let alone the country. Some do it out of fear and some do it out of being too comfortable. Regardless we should always remember our comfort zones are like gold fishes. "The bigger the zone the bigger the person." If we continue to stay in the same place we'll continue to know all that we know but traveling allows us to feel this emotional high that can't be done by any other drug or alcoholic substance.

I will never forget the feeling I felt when I was in Sydney, Australia in December of 2008 and I finally got to see the Opera House in person. It was literally a child hood dream come true. Another time I was at a Couch Surfers meeting in Wellington, New Zealand and we were on a mountain side apartment just after dark and the view from that high up had me shaking my head in awe of the water and the city lights. In addition are the amaizing people I've met through out my different ventures, people who go out of their way to make sure I'm getting to where I've got to go. People who take pride in their country and want others to know it's a great place to be even as a visitor.
